Warranty & Refund Policy


The Renaissance Guitar Company warrants all new instruments we build. This warranty is a guarantee of full consumer protection against all defects in workmanship, materials, and design to the original owner. The duration of this warranty, as stated above, is for TWO YEARS from date of purchase. This warranty covers both parts and labor. From that date forward, Renaissance Guitar Company extends this warranty for the body and neck for a period of five additional years. Electronics, wiring, and internal components are not included in this extended warranty. Finish checking, being a climate influenced condition not controllable by Renaissance Guitars, is also not covered by this warranty. Normal wear and tear, exposure to extremes of humidity or temperature, accidental damage or abuse is not covered by this warranty and is evaluated by Renaissance Guitars. Regular care and set-up maintenance is recommended, however unauthorized repair work and/or modifications void this warranty. Renaissance Guitar Company will not assume consequential damages or subsequent financial loss. Full warranty service is offered at our shop though shipping and transportation to and from Santa Cruz is the responsibility of the instrument owner. This warranty supersedes all previous guarantees expressed or implied.

Renaissance Guitar Company does not offer monetary refunds on any instrument ordered direct through the company. If customers order through a dealer, that dealer may have their own policy regarding refunds.

However, if you are not happy with your instrument within 10 days of receiving it, you may return the instrument and we will build you a new one. In this scenario, customer pays shipping back to Renaissance Guitar Company but we will pay shipping back to customer.

All deposits are non-refundable, but if you change your mind after you’ve made a deposit, you may use that deposit toward a different instrument.
