Electroline Bass

The Electroline series is designed to be the most flexible solid-body bass in your collection.

With a variety of pickup configurations to match your electronic needs and budget, the Electrolines can deliver the full range of traditional to ultra modern (whales to bats frequency response!) tone. Note to note response is absolutely even with the carbon fiber reinforced necks, and we offer a variety of body woods to suit your tonal needs.

We make the Electroline in four, five, and six string configurations and with a number of electronics options ranging from passive magnetic through electronically blended piezo and magnetic pickups. READ MORE

Our Pickup Advantage

Piezo

Turner designed his piezo to capture both vertical string vibrations (the typical “pressure mode” picked up by a piezo) and lateral motions (“shear mode”), recognizing that most plucking and picking techniques create lateral motion. Turner explains: “If you get the geometry and preamp interface right, you can get incredibly flat frequency response, as well as amazing phase response—there’s no time smear, giving you really fast low end.

With the D-TAR Eclipse preamp the dreaded “piezo quack” is nowhere to be found, but the accuracy and immediacy the piezo provides will benefit greatly from skillful handling.

Magnetic

Turner has been designing and winding magnetic pickups since 1969 and is a pioneer in the field of boutique pickup makers. The Electroline bass pickups are all self hum cancelling and are wound directly on custom ceramic magnets at the Turner workshop in Santa Cruz. The coils are wax potted and then epoxy potted in shielded pickup covers, and they can be used in passive or active modes.

Three Basses in One

Piezo, Magnetic & Blended

The Electroline Piezo pickup sounds perfect along side acoustic instruments, the tone is pure and natural. The Magnetics offer a smoother yet dynamic response where each note’s tone has a consistent integrity throughout.

It is the blend between the piezo and magnetic pickups that puts the Electroline in a category all its own. The D-TAR Eclipse preamp is the key, allowing you to sculp and shape your tone to suite your needs. Each pickup system has individual tone controls and the piezo/mag blend pot offers a smooth mix between these distinctive sounds. The piezo system offers much more low- and high-frequency response than the mag pickups, but the humbuckers deliver strong upper bass and midrange focus. The successfully blending of these gives you a lot to work with and a giant leap towards finding your desired sound.
